I just made these grilled peaches for my friend Simon. They were terrific.
Let me talk you through it.
Esther’s grilled peaches
for 2
2 of the ripest peaches you can get hold of
yoghurt
double cream (optional)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
some runny honey
some strawberries if you happen to have some but don’t bother if not
Set your grill to very hot
1 Halve or quarter your peaches (I had trouble halving mine round the stone so I quartered them. Fine.)
2 Put them under the grill for 3-5 mins either side. I left mine under there for a while until they had a bit of a char on, but do them as you like
3 Meanwhile combine about 4 heaped tbsp of plain or Greek yoghurt or creme fraiche or yoghurt mixed with some double cream or whatever, babes, with your ground cinnamon
4 When the peaches look ready, put them on a plate with the yoghurt on the side – cut strawberries as well, if you like
