If you don’t have an Aeropress coffee maker then you are a crazy lunatic. It’s basically an espresso maker, but without any machinery and limited mess.
A VERY good present for a coffee addict who travels a lot. Or who just wants a good espresso in the morning and isn’t a pompous a-hole who thinks that a giant £1k espresso maker or those stinking grumbling wasteful Nespresso machines is all part of the process.
I’ve been becoming increasingly interested in the Aeropress and you might just have tipped me over the edge into convincedness (is that a word?), but are they more style than substance, more form than function, more fashionable than effective – does the coffee taste good? I’m currently a committed Cafetière man. Please advise, O guru. x
They’re very good, according to Giles and he is a right snob about coffee
Then that’s good enough for me, thank you. *adds to own lengthy Xmas gift list, has no ideas for anyone else’s* x
YES YES YES. The Aeropress is amazing. I have basically reactivated my coffee habit with this and butter coffee (I know, I know).
The second time I broke a mug during 15 minutes spent trying to make a syringe-dose of coffee for a guest, I had to acknowledge that the Aeropress was not for me, alas…
you don’t know your own strength…
Ian honestly the coffee tastes so much better. It makes it sort of smoother and less acidic.
Oh, thank you, Jess! Before I saw your reply to me, I was about to cheekily ask you what butter coffee is, in reply to your comment above. But is it correct etiquette to have conversations in Esther’s comments string? :S
Got one last Christmas, and was cross about it because it looked a bit rubbish. BUT started using it and now I absolutely love it. Easy & quick to use, no de scaling faff, just rinse in water, and best of all the coffee it makes is bloody lovely.
This – want want!!! As with Mr Brice, I am a dedicated Cafetière presser, I actually prefer it and am barely human with anything else. This has my 100% dedicated attention and a raised eyebrow…Me thinks you know us very well!
What you said, Vicki! 😉
I LOVE it. I discovered it a couple of months ago and the coffee is reliably regularly gorgeous. No faff to speak of either. I know I’m sounding a tad evangelical but seriously, get one.
Oh I love mine so much. Great coffee and so much tidier for office cofee making – no grinds to try and surreptitiously wash down the sink.
