Dried orange slices

This is a very easy yet clever and festive thing that I found my sister doing at her house the other day – drying orange slices.

You slice up an orange and arrange the slices on a non-stick baking surface then sprinkle front and back with some salt to aid the drying process. Then put in the oven at 110C for 6 hours. If you have an AGA just put them in the lowest oven for the same amount of time or overnight.

Ta, da! Dried orange slices! They smell great.

Sorry to be staggeringly dense, Esther, but what do you do with them once dried? Decorative or Edible purposes?

add them to pot pourri? string some red and white striped string through them and hang on your tree? glue them to a piece of cinnamon and tie them to presents as a very modern alternative to a big foil star?
