Best flowers

For a very special occasion, a really massive thank you, a seriously huge apology, to show you really, really, really love someone – go directly to Scarlet and Violet

It’s London-only I’m afraid… SORRY… but look please, please post in the comments box the best florist where you are.

Just promise me you won’t get anything from Bloom& Wild. There is something so wrong about flowers coming through the letterbox…

http://www.fieldgateflowers.co.uk/shop/ are fab for the Milton Keynes and surrounding area, and they do a national courier service too (just ignore the postal flowers bit…. This is a new thing that I hope they ditch soon)

I have to speak up for the postal flowers. My elderly grandmother lives three hours away and when she was recovering from an unexpected heart procedure I used Bloom&Wild at the last minute; I didn’t know exactly when she’d be home, and didn’t want to disturb her with a knock at the door at the wrong time. She was surprised and delighted with them. I wouldn’t maybe for a special occasion, but for a last minute thinking of you thing, or for someone with a baby sleeping in the day, (I hate answering the door) they have their place and the service is good and affordable.

The flower shop in Bishops’ Walk arcade in Cirencester – the one by Tesco’s, seriously unprepossessing – does very lovely bouquets, though I have no idea about delivery. My husband used to bring one home every so often when he worked in Ciren. Sadly no replacement found in Swindon yet ….

The flower stall opposite Iceland at Stroud market on a Saturday is AMAZING, but you need to get there before 10am to get any choice. He’s not there every week at the moment (ie not there last week when I went, dammit).

Also after much trawling I found Sweet Woodruff (sweetwoodruff.ca) in Toronto, Canada, and the recipient said the flowers were as lovely as the pics, which you should just drool over for ten minutes. They deliver round Toronto and are very nice on the phone.

I would also recommend Bloom & Wild https://www.bloomandwild.com/ so great to have flowers that can fit through a postbox and you don’t have to worry about whether people will be in or not.

The Gluttonous Gardener does glorious boxes of “things” e.g. lemon tree and bottle of gin, or this delish looking Moroccan Mint Tea box with a pot of mint and tea glasses – https://www.glut.co.uk/products/the-moroccan-mint-tea-crate. Just a nice step away from flowers that will die within the week, you can have some fun with these lovely things for a similar price.

Quince flowers Brighton – they are lovely – flowers and the owner. They did my wedding flowers (and my sisters wedding flowers) so I am biased, but also do beautiful bouquets that are long lasting.
