This comes in one of those WEENY bottles
This is a very jolly nail varnish – only £1 from MUA via Superdrug. This is not the baby blue of the Nineties, nor the dark blue of AW15 but a sort of holiday blue called, appropriately, Ocean Blue.
I am not going to post a picture of my nails in this colour because to say that my hands are not photogenic is putting it mildly.
This looks soo much nicer than the weeny, sheeny-greeny Max Factor one I bought two days ago, which is like an iridescent beetle in the bottle and more like a bruise on the fingers, let alone the toes for which it was intended. (14, Dazzling Blue fyi). Even the over-50s in my Pilates class are sporting dark blue nails, and I live in the very un-trendy bit of Glos … and dammit, I was in Superdrug yesterday and whisked past all the slap without looking!
the colour is most def not DARK blue yes? are you listening? must be a dreamy ocean blue, almost turquoise
Yes, I am listening – meant to imply that if even the oldies are into dark blue, it must be, like, TOTES over.
(I have no idea why I find ‘totes’ so very amusing/eye roll-y)
Funnily when I plumped for the bruise-colour I had already rejected the very 50s bubblegum-blue colours as Not Right, so clearly I was unconsciously seeking dreamy ocean blue, almost turquoise. I shall purchase correct colour forthwith!
okay phew you are on message – dark blue is ovah. just checking. don’t want no Spiker wandering around during SS16 with dark blue nails. *high five emoticon*
I’ve steered clear of blue because with my current complexion I’m worried it would just serve to complete the dead woman walking look, which I’m trying so hard to avoid with my “wake me up” tinted moisturiser. But a dreamy ocean blue…maybe.
dreamy ocean blue.. leaning towards turquoise. maybe one for when the sun really comes out. sorry, if.
Oh dear. Does this mean that wearing my Chanel Blue Satin (which admittedly they don’t sell any more) will mark me out as someone who is behind the times and therefore does not require swift service in shops and restaurants?
uh, yeah. the only chanel nail colours you should ever buy are 1) nude/pink 2) vampy red 3) rouge noir as those are the only colours that will always be acceptable, right to the bottom of your bottle. Otherwise: Mavala.
