Do you remember I was talking about the 2-in-1 sweater with a pie crust frill? Here is the first high street example I have seen, from J Crew. It is a great sweater, really lovely.
There will be more of this sort of thing in all combinations of knitwear/shirting coming into all stores, I’m sure, but if you want to be absolutely au courant in your smart-casual wear, get this immediately.
The contrast between the smartness of the ruffle trim and the casual nature of the blue sweatshirt fabric is genuinely thrilling.
It also has a very gentle swing/A-Line shape, imperceptible to the naked eye, but when on, it doesn’t cling, which is really all I ask of an item of clothing these days.

I find generally runs large, Hannah. Customers are usually pretty good at leaving reviews on website which plot the item on the runs large/small scale too.

I agree with Madeline – items are usually bigger than expected with J Crew. However, some items come in petite sizes plus their store in Regent Street now offers a small selection of petite items. Their customer service is brilliant. If you email them they will respond quickly with all the measurements you need like length from shoulder to hem, chest, sleeve length etc etc. their customer service is so good online that I hardly ever visit their London stores plus they ship items free and fast from the USA. The only downside with their jumpers is that sometimes the wool isn’t great quality so if you’re used to finest cashmere you may well be disappointed.
