Navy knitted dress

Screen Shot 2017-04-12 at 12.40.11

I am very pleased with this knitted dress from asos.com – only £32 but looks quite Celine, don’t you think?

(That is of course a trick question, designed to freak you out. Anything you buy, just say to someone “quite Celine, don’t you think?” and they will be so frightened that they will say “Yes” and scurry away.)

With a dress like this, your accessories are everything. Your smartest bag. Your chicest gold hoops. Your cleanest shoes.

The sizing on this is quite generous – I got this in a 12 and it is pretty loose on me and I’m not in especially great shape right now.

Look lovely Esther. I am a size 10/12 but with a tummy left over from baby no. 2 (on a bad day I probably look 5 months pregnant) – how “flattering” is this on that area do you reckon? Thanks so much.

I have the same problem and I found it useful for that particular problem. But – you really have to try it on to be sure.

I always get unreasonably excited about skirt pockets. Probably because of Roman Holiday. I like it, and I am interested in the answers to the questions above, too; thank you for asking them, Hannah & Louise x

as a counterpoint to this dress’s chic simplicity – I just popped into Zara and its full of the most bonkers clothes – black silk, folksy embroidered shirts next to distressed grey jersey sweaters, covered in gold paint next to white culottes with frills round the ankles.

Good question – I mean, all things with a deep V neck are good for a big bust. Give it a whirl, I would

Thanks Esther, that’s great to know. Going to give it a whirl. The boobage question was also really useful (although post-preg and breastfeeding, mine seem to have gone in the opposite direction to the tummy, worst luck..!).
