Ines de la Fressange for Uniqlo

Sorry is it boring me doing round-ups of new collections at the moment?

It’s just that this is what’s on my mind, I mean aside from these migraines I seem to be getting every now and again.

Is it normal by the way for a migraine to make you feel really super tired? Or is that the Migraleve? Or am I just tired? Or what?

Anyway I have never paid much heed to Ines thingy for Uniqlo before, but the most recent collection is outstanding. I’m just so in love with all of it.

The collection is only just out today so I haven’t tried any of it on but these are the things I think look best…

This jumper with cute stripes. Just perfect. Again, comes in a Royal Blue and a darker blue. You want the darker blue:

This style of button-through sundresses was absolutely everywhere last summer and will be this summer, too. Wear with sandals, trainers or espadrilles.

This looks to me like pretty much the best example I’ve seen of a natty navy sweatshirt. Do I say navy too much? Be honest? (Don’t.)

I will be experimenting more with silk scarves this year, starting with this.

This mesh shopper just makes my heart leap. Why? Or is it just the Migraleve.

Smart navy raincoat – essential and hard to find – regardez SVP in particular the slanted pockets, which are SO RARE but so much nicer than straight pockets. Comes in a sort of Royal Blue and a true dark navy. You want navy. FOR SOME INSANE REASON despite being listed on the advance products, I can’t find this online – I will keep an eye on it and update you.

Have a look at Mid Life Chic blog. She’s just done a try out of various items from this collection and you can see some of them on a real person! Apparently the nice things are sold out by lunchtime so get cracking!! I’ve just ordered a dark (navy!)denim skirt.

Yes tiredness will be the migraine. I had a four day migraine extravaganza the other week, 2 days of irritability and feeling slightly fuzzy and out of it (I mean more than USUAL), 1 day of “just shoot me” scorching headache, and then some fatigue to round things off nicely.

I like all of that, a lot.
Navy is a very satisfying word to say.
It might be the migraleve, but I think it’s the stripy canvas straps, love that shit.

Ouch, sorry about the migraines. I sympathise as a fellow sufferer. Hate to say it but there tends to be a hormonal (it’s always bloody hormones isn’t it) element to them as we (females) get older. Have you noticed a pattern to when they happen? Very common at either ovulation or start of the period week. I get one for about 2 days or so at the start of every period now – a new things over the last couple of years (42 now). And yes absolutely standard to feel knackered at the same time! If you don’t think it’s hormones, maybe get your eyes tested to see if there are any changes there. You’ve probably done/thought of all this already! Anyway, good luck and hope they improve. Oh, and LOVE that stripy jumper! 😍😍

Yes, it’s entirely normal for migraines to make you feel super tired afterwards. Also: exhausted, dizzy, mentally foggy and disorientated, sometimes for days. I’ve found the after effects to be worse than the migraine itself – after all you can dose the pain if you catch it in time. Sometimes, you can go through a bad patch where you keep getting migraines…then it seems to clear up. Unpleasant and mysterious. Grit your teeth until it passes, which will be soon, I do hope.

Yes, migraine makes you very tired and gives you brain fog. After trying all the usual solutions – prescribed drugs etc – I have found that I have to avoid cheese, all alcohol, caffeine and chocolate. This seems a real deprivation until you have pain so awful you want to cut your own head off. Acupuncture also helps, as does staying hydrated and getting enough sleep

Migraines, ugh. Poor you. A lethal combo of hormone spike, lack of sleep, sugar and cocktails usually does it for me. More sleep, more water, less cocktails = way forward.

Bloody love all of this Uniqlo stuff (as per). HOW can they all be out of stock already? Bastards. Might pop down to Oxf St at lunchtime but will I be too late?!

No, please keep doing your round ups – it’s not boring and some of us actually NEED you x ps as a fellow sufferer of migraine hell, try sumatriptan. Can procure over the counter in Boots after a grilling from the pharmacist. I wanted to weep with pitiful gratitude when I discovered it.

As a migraine sufferer too have you tried keeping a record of them? I did and found that they were all in the week prior to my period or the first couple of days of my period. I might occasionally also get one around ovulation and they usually are total bastard ones. Went to the drs mid-migraine once when I sort of “lost” one half my face and they threw triptans at me which mostly help if I catch it early enough. If you don’t catch them then they make you feel like shit for a good day or so. Hope you find something that works.
On navy sweatshirts – also look at Arket. Just discovered it this week and looks good for basics. They also have good raglan sweaters.
Love your blog – honest and sweary. Both good things in my book.

Re migraines my symptoms = slight headache plus nausea so feels like a slight hangover. Then early afternoon I realise I feel AWFUl and sooooo tired and I am drinking water like it’s going out of fashion and I didn’t have anything to drink the night before so must be a migraine. Take an imigran (sp?) feel spacey for half an hour then feel fine. Every time! I never learn and just take the drugs first sign of headache.

Re: the migraines… if you’re suffering and the over the counter stuff (Migralieve etc) aren’t doing the trick you should go to your GP and get them to check your blood pressure just to be safe. Also, maybe request prescription migraine meds. Imigran (main ingredient sumatriptan) is worth looking at! x

As a seasoned Uniqlo shopper my tip is to keep checking back if you loved something and missed out on it. They do frequently restock. It’s also worth taking them up on the option to send a notification email when an item is back in stock. But the notification email lags the item actually appearing back on the website so if you’re completely obsessed with something just keep checking the website. (Can you tell this is old ground for me?) Good luck. I’M REFUSING TO EVEN LOOK at the site today so I don’t get het up!

Right, like Zoe, I live in Australia and was all set and ready to DO THIS. On the 22nd I raced in and put one of the striped navy jumpers in my basket, along with a couple of t-shirts, but suddenly and quite unexpectedly decided to swap it for the royal blue. I have so much navy stuff already and I just went mad. They arrived this morning and I’m happy I did it. There’s a little wiggle room in the capsule code isn’t there? Thanks for the tip Esther! Very happy with my purchases. Just need some cooler weather now.

Did you buy the uniqlo dress? What size? I am finding it is not good for the waist/bust ratio – is basically fit around the waist and far too small in the bust or fit around the bust and flap at the waist. GAH.
