This book made me cry with laughter. No, wait, not “made” – is making me, as I haven’t finished it yet. Written by the collective panel of lunatics that make up The Midult, who are a little bit like The Spike’s rather wild cousins, this book is… I mean… what is it? It’s just about life and it’s hilarious.
I can’t really explain why or copy out some bits that made me laugh because it sort of has to be read as a whole. You have to get into the entire billowing, dizzy, surreal slalom of this book and let it buffet you into really helpless hysterics. That state when you’re so tickled that someone only has to say “bum” to set you off again. I was reading it in bed last night and my husband was going “tut” because it was so annoying how I was shaking the bed with laughter but trying not to laugh because it’s so annoying when someone else is reading something really funny.
I don’t know, maybe this book has only struck a chord with me and you won’t like it. But I suspect that maybe it’s the funniest book ever written?
Anyway, buy it here. Whatever you do don’t read it on the train.
