If you have many events requiring a hat coming up considering hiring one.
Yes, you heard me. The CHC will box up the hat of your choice, post it out for your event and then you return it. Which might sound like a hassle to you but it’s nothing like the hassle of spending £200 on something only to have to store this giant stupid thing in your house forever, while it goes out of fashion faster than the MiniDisc.
Lovely Rachel from the Cotswold Hat Club got in touch last year to see if I would put her on The Spike and I said yeah sure, sister – and then forgot, like a total fucking bitch.
Then Rachel emailed again. Hi! Only me! She said. And I thought mein gott there’s a good woman. If I were her I would have written me off as a right cow.
Anyway have a look. I think Rachel is a top bird, from what I know of her, and I walked past her shop once in Stow and it looked fancy. Check her out.

Wow they look amazing. I just need a reason to order one , I need a wedding!
Thank you Esther, this could be the answer to a huge dilemma! Step daughter getting married next year, I have a dress, now have seen a couple of hats which may suit. I certainly can’t afford to buy something I’ll probably never wear again. Will save this and refer back neater the time.
Gorgeous hats, and have a wedding in July – they’re more expensive than other hat hire places but these hats are vastly superior
This is such a good idea. I hate the idea of spending £££ on a hat to wear once so hiring is perfect. My only worry (and it may address this on the website) is what happens if you damage a hat. I’ve been to so many weddings where there’s nowhere helpful to put your hat and then when people have had a drink everyone’s hat gets a bit mashed. I would hate to do this to a hired hat then get stuck with an enormous bill.
This is my concern too!
OMG I love them. Tempted to hire one just to wear to the office.
I love the idea of this, but I do think it is tricky with hats as they don’t all suit everyone. Having said that, I have taken to eBay for hats recently (lucky enough to be going to Ascot twice) and have got some bargins.
Bloody hell. This would have saved me a FORTUNE – unlimited hire for a year for the price of one good hat … I do still love all my hats though, even the one I misread the price of and nearly fainted at the cash desk.
I wish this was a thing in the US! Alas, formal weddings are not in fashion. Last wedding I went to the attendants wore flip flops.
