Further (eco) resources

The BBC documentary Hugh’s War on Plastic (though I find it hard to watch programmes like that. I can quite imagine it all, I’m not in denial. I feel like seeing it all on telly would hasten a panic attack.)

Kathryn Kellog of Going Zero Waste . What a hunnay.

Offset Earth is a carbon-offsetting programme. I just know you will have opinions about this.

Tree Sisters, they plant a shit load of trees.

Moral Fibres – another highly recommended Green blog

The BBC Radio Podcast, Costing the Earth. The BBC earning its licence fee, as usual.

I have had recommended to me two Instagram accounts for eco suggestions: @pinksboutique1 and @proverbskin. There must be many more. Please leave any account names in the box.

I had a really good question about ethical investment schemes – anyone know of any of these? Any suggestions.. you know what to do.

Pinks Boutique products are fab! Their hand balm is brilliant not just for your hands but also any dry elbow patches

Not strictly relevant to this post, but more to the aims of the week in general: I loved all Giles’ ‘Back in time series’ but the one that has resonated with me most was the Christmas one. Watching the increased commercialisation and excess of Christmas develop through the two episodes, I felt (feel) its almost a metaphor for where we have gone wrong and our horrific over consumption of resources. I’m trying to channel that feeling, not just at Christmas but for all special occasions or where I just feel that I ‘need’ a treat and try to dial it back a notch or ten!

Here here! I’m trying with all the strength I can muster to push back against the ridiculous level of bullshit consumerism thrust upon families. Elaborate baby photo shoots, one year-olds having “smash cakes”, elaborate birthday parties, Elf on a Shelf… I could go on….

Ecology building society is one of the most eco banks around – ethical investing.

https://oldfaithful.co Gareth makes the most gorgeous skin cleanser, serum and balms. AND bespoke makes too. They are absolutely lush, come in glass bottles, with aluminium lids too. I cannot recommend him highly enough !
